(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On June 3, 2015, the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on general patrol on Highway 400 in McDougall Township. At approximately 8:16 p.m., a northbound car was observed travelling at a high rate of speed and as a result was stopped for “Stunt Driving”.
The driver, Ilia ELCHISHVILI, 34 years of age from North York, was arrested and has been charged with Race a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario (HTA).
His Ontario Drivers Licence has been suspended for seven days and the vehicle he was operating was also seized for seven days.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on June 23, 2015.
