(South Dundas) – On April 7, 2016 at approximately 9:51pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a domestic situation involving a couple (boyfriend/girlfriend) in a vehicle on Plaza Drive, South Dundas Township. Investigation revealed that an altercation in public between an adult male and his girlfriend resulted in both assaulting each other. The vehicle they were traveling in was intercepted by police and both arrested.

A 24-year-old male and 21-year-old female, both from South Dundas Township are each charged with;

– Assault – Spousal

– Causing a Disturbance

Both were released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on May 3, 2016. Names are not being released in order to protect them each as victims.

(South Stormont) – On April 8, 2016 at approximately 6:00am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of domestic situation at a residence in South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his ex-girlfriend resulted in the male causing damage within the home.

The 37-year-old from South Stormont Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Mischief – Domestic

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on May 3, 2016. His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

OBSTRUCTING JUSTICE

(North Glengarry) – On April 7, 2016 at approximately 8:09pm, following an ongoing investigation, SD&G OPP officers responded to a North Glengarry Township residence and arrested an adult male. Investigation had revealed that the accused had interfered with an ongoing assault investigation and upcoming court proceedings.

The 21-year-old male is charged with;

– Obstruct Justice

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on June 8, 2016. His name is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim involved in the previous incident.
