ASSAULT POLICE
(South Glengarry) – On March 26, 2015 at approximately 6:34pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a business property on Old Highway 2, South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an intoxicated adult female was causing a disturbance at the location. Upon her arrest, she became aggressive and assaulted officers.
Katherine CUMMING (34) of South Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault a Peace Officer
– Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest (2 counts)
– Mischief Under $5000 (officer’s glasses damaged)
– Causing a Disturbance
She was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on April 16, 2015.
MAN CHARGED IN COLLISION
(South Glengarry) – On March 26, 2015 at approximately 9:06pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 401, eastbound lanes, South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that a passenger vehicle, traveling at a suspected high rate of speed, collided with the rear of a pick-up truck. It was determined that the adult male driver of the passenger vehicle was under the influence of alcohol.
Tauhid AKBAR (20) of Cambridge, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Fail or Refuse to Provide a Breath Sample
– Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on May 13, 2015.
