FURTHER BREAK-INS REPORTED IN SOUTH DUNDAS
Residents urged to report suspicious activity to OPP
(South Dundas) – On April 14, 2015 – Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received two additional reports of break-ins at residences in South Dundas Township. Both targeted homes are located on Broken Second Road. Investigation indicated that assorted tools were stolen.
Over the past week, SD&G OPP have responded and are actively investigating several break-ins in the South Dundas Township area. Residents and reminded to be extra vigilant in reporting ALL suspicious activity to SD&G OPP.
OBSTRUCT POLICE
(South Dundas) – On April 14, 2015 at approximately 1:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a two motor vehicle collision at an off-ramp of Highway 401, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that the two occupants in the vehicle provided false information to police relating to the operation of one of the vehicles involved. Further information revealed both occupants were also in contravention of conditions imposed from previous incidents.
Aaron TAYLOR (26) of South Stormont Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Obstruct Peace Officer
– Fail To Comply with Recognizance (3 counts)
Lianne KILLEN (24) of Elizabethtown Township was also arrested and is charged with;
– Obstruct Peace Officer
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order (2 counts)
TAYLOR was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall. KILLEN was released and is scheduled to appear at Morrisburg court on June 9, 2015.
EXCESSIVE SPEEDS
(SD&G) – SD&G and Highway Safety Division (HSD) OPP officers conducting speed measuring enforcement intercepted the following vehicles for traveling at excessive speeds. In all stops, the vehicle was impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.
– April 14 – 3:39pm; vehicle stopped on County Road 20, North Glengarry Township, speeding 139km/h (80km/h zone). Male driver (17) from The Nation, Ontario charged accordingly.
– April 15 – 1:22am; vehicle stopped on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township, speeding 152km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (29) from Newmarket, Ontario charged accordingly.
