(North Dundas) – On April 12, 2015 at approximately 10:45pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began an investigation into a report of an assault at a residence on Church Road, North Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an adult male had forcibly entered the home and assaulted a male resident inside. The victim sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
On April 19, 2015 SD&G OPP arrested John COLE (50) of North Dundas Township. He is charged with;
– Break and Enter a Dwelling House with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence
– Assault Causing Bodily Harm
He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on May 12, 2015.
(South Dundas) – On April 17, 2015 at approximately 9:44am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a family dispute at a residence on County Road 7, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between family members resulted in one male threatening and assaulting another. Further information revealed that the accused was in breach of conditions imposed from a previous incident.
A 19-year-old male from South Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Aggravated Assault
– Assault with a Weapon (2 counts – hammer brandished/stones thrown)
– Uttering Threats – Cause Bodily Harm
– Breach of Recognizance (3 counts)
He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall. The name of the accused is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.
(South Stormont) – On April 17, 0215 at approximately 1:27pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of an assault at a residence on Archambault Road, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that a male youth was in an altercation with an adult female resulting in the female being assaulted. She was taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries. Further information revealed the youth was in contravention of several conditions imposed from previous incidents.
The 17-year-old male from South Stormont Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault
– Fail To Comply with Conditions of Undertaking (4 counts)/Probation Order (2 counts)/Young Person Disposition (2 counts)
He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall. The name of the accused is being withheld as per guidelines of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
MOTORCYCLE DRIVER CHARGED
(North Dundas) – On April 19, 2015 at approximately 9:50am, an OPP Snowmobile – All-Terrain Vehicle – Vessel Enforcement (SAVE) Unit officer intercepted an off-road motorcycle on Sandy Row Road, North Dundas Township after observing it being driven in a dangerous manner.
The female driver, Ashley RODERICK (20) of North Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
– Driving While Under Suspension (Highway Traffic Act – HTA)
– Drive Off-Road Vehicle – No Insurance (HTA)
– Off-Road Vehicle – No Number Plates (HTA)
– Unlawfully Drive Off-Road Vehicle on Highway (HTA)
She was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on June 9, 2015 (criminal charge) and June 16, 2015 (HTA charges).
YOUTHS CHARGED WITH MISCHIEF
(North Glengarry) – On April 17, 2015 at approximately 7:29pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of mischief to a religious grotto on Bishop Street in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township. Investigation revealed two male and two female youths involved.
Two 13-year-old male youths, one 13-year-old female and one 12-year-old female, all from North Glengarry Township were arrested and each charged with;
– Mischief Under $5000
All were released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on May 21, 2015.
