(North Dundas) – On June 22, 2015 at approximately 2:56am, Stormont, Dundas &Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of a Business fire on Queen Street, North Dundas Township. North Dundas Fire Department members were tending to a fully involved fire of Papa Gus Bar and Grill which resulted in significant damage. The Ontario Fire Marshal’s office will be attending to determine the cause of the fire.
An investigation by SD&G OPP Crime Unit continues.
IMPAIRED DRIVER(S)
(South Dundas) – On June 20, 2015 at approximately 2:39 pm, a SD&G OPP officer intercepted a motor vehicle (E-Bike) on Elizabeth Drive, South Dundas Township. The stop revealed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. During the investigation that she assaulted the officer.
Cathy SIMZER (55) of South Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Ability Impaired
– Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood
– Assault a Peace Officer
She was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on June 30, 2015.
(South Dundas) – On June 20, 2015 at approximately 3:26 pm, a SD&G OPP officer responded to a report of boat collision at Iroquois Beach in South Dundas Township. The driver of the boat had since fled the scene and was located by Police shortly thereafter. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.
Randy BELHUMEUR (54) of South Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Fail or Refuse to Provide Breath Sample
– Resist Peace Officer
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on June 30, 2015.
Assault
(South Dundas) – On June 20, 2015 at approximately 8:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a neighbour Dispute at a residence on Pigeon Island Road, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation occurred between two adult males resulting in one male striking the other.
Alfred HUTT (57) of South Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on August 4, 2015
Domestic Investigation
(South Glengarry) – On June 21, 2015 at approximately 12:04am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Hay Road, South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his common-law spouse resulted in the male assaulting the female. During the investigation the female interfered with the officers during the arrest of the male.
The 47-year-old male from Cornwall, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on July 21, 2015
The 52-year-old Female from South Glengarry Township was arrested and charged with;
– Obstruct Peace Officer
She was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on August 4, 2015
