(North Glengarry) – As a result of ongoing investigations into reported historical sexual assault incidents, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit have charged two (2) males. Investigations have indicated that between 1992 and 1995, several sexual assaults involving two (2) male youths (at time of offences) took place at residences in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township.
On January 18, 2017 – a 56-year-old male from North Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Sexual Assault (4 counts)
– Sexual Interference -Person Under 14
On January 19, 2017 – a 41-year-old male from Cornwall, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Sexual Assault (2 counts)
– Utter Uttering Threats
Both were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on March 8, 2017. The names of the accused persons are being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victims.
DRUGS SEIZED
(South Dundas) – On January 26, 2017 at approximately 12:37pm, members of the OPP Community Drug Action Team (CDAT) intercepted a vehicle on Carman Road, South Dundas Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of quantities of suspected cocaine and marihuana as well as assorted drug paraphernalia.
The male driver, Chad WELSH (24) of South Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
– Possession of a Controlled Substance
– Fail to Comply with Undertaking
He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on March 24, 2017.
