Stolen Vehicles And Theft On Josephine Street Keep Wingham Officers Busy Over Long Weekend

Wingham Police report busy holiday weekend

On Friday the 16th, a business owner reported that a Josephine St business had been entered sometime during the previous night. There was no sign of damage however it was discovered that a 10 inch Samsung tablet was missing.

During the morning of Saturday the 17th, OPP advised that a vehicle had been stolen from a Jamestown Rd address. A Wingham officer observed the vehicle in Wingham and a pursuit was initiated. The suspect failed to stop and the pursuit was terminated due to safety. The same vehicle was later observed in Perth County driving erratically. The Middlesex OPP were able to arrest a suspect with regard to this incident.

In the afternoon of the 17th, police received a report of a stolen vehicle from Minnie St. In this instance, the driver of the vehicle had parked it in a driveway and a person known to her got in the vehicle and drove it off. The suspect, 25 year old Joshua Crolle of Morris Turnberry was later arrested in Wingham and held for bail. He is charged with theft, impaired driving and breach of a recognizance. The vehicle was later discovered at a B Line Rd business.

During the early morning hours of Sunday the 18th, Police were called to assist ambulance on Josephine St. A 22 year old male was located outside without a shirt on acting strangely, in need of medical attention. The officer and paramedics placed the male in the police cruiser to be transported to the hospital. He then kicked out the rear window of the cruiser. OPP attended to assist and transported the individual to the hospital for required treatment. No name will be released due to the fact that this was a medical situation.
