(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On November 11, 2016 at approximately 10:15 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on a farm property located on the Eighth Line near Noah Road in Centre Wellington Township.
Officers located the vehicle, a stolen 2004 Ford pick-up truck, as it was exiting a private driveway. Police activated the cruiser’s emergency lights in an attempt to conduct a traffic stop but the vehicle accelerated away at a high rate of speed and entered into a farmer’s field. The vehicle continued to drive dangerously in various fields while causing substantial damage to a crop before it became lodged in a ditch in an attempt to make it back out onto the roadway. A male driver and two female passengers were taken into custody.
29-year-old Jason BURCHIEL of Blenheim faces the following criminal charges:

Fail to Comply with OIC Undertaking
As well as Drive While Under Suspension x2 contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
He was held for a Bail Hearing.
29-year-old Shannon O’SHEA of Chatham-Kent has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by a Crime Over $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on December 23, 2016 to answer to the charge.
34-year-old Amy Lee KING of no fixed address has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by a Crime Over $5000 and Obstruct Peace Officer contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal on December 20, 2016 to answer to the charges.
