(Fisher Twp., ON) – On the 19th of January at approximately 5:46 am Sault Ste. Marie OPP responded to a report of a minivan in the ditch on Highway 563 in Fisher Township.
Upon arrival at the scene Police located a blue minivan facing eastbound in the westbound lane partially on the north shoulder.
A lone female occupant was observed in the driver’s seat of the minivan.
As a result of Police investigation it was revealed that the minivan had been stolen from a residence earlier in the evening.
Thirty-three year old Julia Capponi of no-fixed-address was arrested and charged with the following;
One count of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle by Drug contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada;
One count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada;
One count of Possession of a Schedule III substance and one count of Possession of a Schedule I substance contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
One count of Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing today.
