(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) -Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a stolen GMC pickup truck on August 10, 2014. On August 19, an officer was patrolling 6 Side Road North, Centre Wellington Township and drove onto a vacant property where a man and woman were found with the stolen vehicle. During the investigation, a brief conversation took place before they fled the area on foot. Police recovered the stolen vehicle and two stolen licence plates. The theft of scrap metal was also interrupted.
The male was identified and arrested at a later date.
Michael PETTIGREW age 18 of Centre Wellington Township has been charged with;
Theft Under $5000 -Criminal Code (C.C.)
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 x2 -C.C.
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 -C.C.
He is scheduled to appear in Criminal Court on September 12, 2014 to answer the charges.
