(ADELAIDE METCALFE, ON) – On July 13, 2016, the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 402 westbound, near Kerwood Road.
Three motorcycles (including a red Honda) were travelling westbound on Highway 402 at a high rate of speed. A Ford pickup truck travelling westbound on Highway 402, in the inside lane, avoided a piece of debris on the highway, and was struck by the Honda motorcycle.
The motorcycle driver came to rest in the ditch, and was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The two other motorcycles continued travelling westbound at a high rate of speed, without stopping.
The police investigation has revealed that the Honda motorcycle had been reported as stolen in the London Police Service (LPS) jurisdiction.
The male driver of the motorcycle, 23-year-old Tamim HEIDARY, from London, Ontario, has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 – in Canada, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was released by way of a Promise to Appear (PTA), and is scheduled to answer the charges in a London court on August 30, 2016.
