(ST.MARYS, ON) – The stolen Christmas displays have been recovered. The Perth County OPP appreciates the assistance of the public with this investigation.

On Thursday December 15, 2011 Perth County OPP officers in St.Marys were alerted to the fact that two large Christmas displays had been removed from the Milt Dunnell Park.

Investigation revealed that sometime within the past two nights culprits removed a “Raptor” and a “Grinch” display from the northwest corner of the park. Both displays are made of rope lights which are fashioned onto a crafted steel frame and attached with plastic ties. The “Grinch” display is approximately 4’x6’ while the “Raptor” is roughly 9’x8’ in size. The displays are unique and are not available as retail items and their replacement value is $1600 – $1700. The displays were taken from their vertical metal post stands. A truck would be required to transport these displays from the park. The theft would have most likely occurred after 11 p.m. when the lighted displays are turned off.
