Stolen ATV Recovered – Two Charged

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On August 23, 2016 members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision involving an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) on Nobel Road in McDougall Township. Police recovered a 2010 green Polaris Sportsman ATV that had been stolen in the area four days earlier. The suspects fled into the bush to escape capture.

Investigation included the assistance the OPP Canine Unit and OPP Emergency Response Unit (ERT). Two suspects were located and arrested a short distance into the wooded area.

Braeden HARRISON, 20 years of age from Nobel was arrested and charged with:

· Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code (CC).

· Fail to comply with probation order contrary to the CC.

· Driving while under suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

The accused was held in custody and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound.

Haleigh ROBERTS, 23 years of age from Nobel was arrested and charged with:

Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 contrary to the CC.

The accused was released and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on September 29, 2-016 to answer to her charge.
