(SUDBURY, ON)- On May 29, 2016, members of the Sudbury Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) established a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere) initiative on Highway 17 in the City of Greater Sudbury.
At approximately 12:14 am, officers had occasion to check a vehicle occupied by a male driver who stopped at the R.I.D.E. program.
As a result of the investigation, it was found that the male driver was suspended.
The driver, Steven WHITE, 44 years of age, from Wahnapitae, was arrested and charged with the following:
Driving while under suspension, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act
Use of plates not authorized for vehicle, contrary to section 12(1)(d) of the Highway Traffic Act
Fail to apply for permit on becoming owner, contrary to section 11(2) of the Highway Traffic Act
The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury, on June 20, 2016, to answer to his charges.
