(GUELPH/ERAMOSA TWP, ON.) – On Thursday October 24, 2012 at about 4:00pm members of the Wellington County OPP Traffic Management Unit were conducing radar enforcement and monitoring traffic on County Road 29 near the Fifth Line of Guelph/Eramosa Twp. At this time and location Constable Henry Van Dyk observed a northbound 2011 GMC Sierra pick-up truck travelling well above the speed limit. Police clocked the auto on radar at 134 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. The driver’s licence has been suspended and vehicle seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
Steven Hanley aged 42 of Elmira has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on November 21, 2012 to answer to the charge.
