(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Wednesday October 24, 2012, at approximately 7:30 p.m. a Perth County OPP officer on patrol observed a fast moving SUV travelling southbound on Hwy 23 south of Atwood. The officer locked the SUV’s speed in on the police radar, and found it to be in excess of the posted 80 km/h speed limit.
The SUV was pulled over and while speaking with the driver it was determined that he had been drinking alcoholic beverages. The driver failed a roadside breath test and was transported to the North Perth OPP Detachment in Listowel, where he also failed Intoxilyzer breath tests.
Randy ARSENAULT (56) of London has been charged with “operation with over 80 mgs of alcoholâ€Â. He has a court date scheduled in Listowel, at the Ontario Court of Justice on November 28, 2012, to answer to this charge. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension, and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
