(North Stormont) – Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a man involved in an incident which occurred on Sixth Road, North Stormont Township on June 6, 2015 at approximately 2:05am.
Officers attempted to stop a pick-up truck on Sixth Road, North Stormont Township being driven by the accused in relation to a criminal investigation. The driver failed to stop and officers followed the fleeing suspect vehicle with emergency equipment activated. The suspect vehicle left the roadway and rolled over.
Steven CHARETTE (25) from Ottawa, Ontario was arrested and taken to hospital with moderate injuries. He was charged on June 7, 2015 with;
– Assault
– Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm
– Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
– Flight while Pursued by Peace Officer
– Assault a Peace Officer with a Weapon
– Fail to Comply with Recognizance (3 counts)
He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall today (08Jun15).
