(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) -A vehicle stop conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in the driver facing alcohol and drug related charges.
On November 3, 2013 an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP conducted a vehicle stop at the intersection of King Street West and James Street in Omemee. The officer approached the vehicle and determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol.
As a result of the investigation, the driver, Stephen CRANLEY, 50 years of age, of Peterborough, was charged with impaired driving and driving while having more than 80mgs of alcohol in 100mls of blood contrary to the Criminal Code. Further investigation revealed that the accused was in possession of a small quantity of marihuana and he was subsequently charged with that offence.
The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on December 5, 2013.
