Stanley Garfield EDWARDS – Drunk Driving

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at approximately 3:32 p.m. a concerned citizen contacted the Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) regarding a possible impaired driver on Southgate Road 47 in the Township of Southgate.

The suspect vehicle, a 2007 Ford Explorer, was stopped on Collingwood Street (Flesherton) in the Municipality of Grey Highlands. The officer observed an open container of liquor in the console of the vehicle and determined that the driver had been drinking. After failing a road side breath test, the driver was arrested for impaired driving and brought to an OPP Detachment for further breath tests.

Stanley Garfield EDWARDS, age 62, of The Blue Mountains, Ontario, was charged with the criminal offence of driving with over 80 milligrams of alcohol and driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor under the Liquor Licence Act.

His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for 7 days.

He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on Thursday, November 17, 2014.
