Stabbing In Goderich – 26 Year Old Charged

(GODERICH, ON) – A 26-year-old male from Huron East has been charged and remains in custody following an early morning domestic dispute that took place in Goderich.

At approximately 4:00 a.m. this morning (21Mar), Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a Gibbons Street residence in relation to a domestic related disturbance.

The subsequent police investigation revealed the accused was in an agitated state and proceeded to brandish an edged weapon toward his partner. At this point an adult family member intervened and was stabbed resulting in a non-life threatening injury to the intervener.

The accused then exited the residence and was briefly locked out of the home. However, moments later the accused forced his way back into the residence whereupon he continued to cause a disturbance.

Police arrived on scene shortly thereafter and were able to take the male into custody without incident.

Assault With a Weapon

Aggravated Assault

Break & Enter

He remains in custody with court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on March 25, 2019.
