(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) -The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was patrolling the highways this past long weekend and two separate vehicle stops resulted in the drivers being charged.
On August 4, 2013 an OPP officer observed a vehicle travelling at 158 km/h in a 100km/h zone on Highway 115 and subsequently stopped the vehicle. The driver, Thomas LANGILLE, 23 years of age, of Oshawa, was charged with stunt driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
On August 5, 2013 a vehicle travelling at 154 km/h in a 100km/h zone was observed and stopped by an OPP officer on Highway 115, within the City of Kawartha Lakes. The driver, Sheri KNIGHTON, 41 years of age, of Lakefield, was charged with stunt driving.
The accused parties will appear in court, in Lindsay, on September 10, 2013.
