(IROQUOIS FALLS, ON) – On January 15, 2017 at 6:23 p.m., the Iroquois Falls Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a mischief on Buckingham Avenue in Iroquois Falls. A local resident’s vehicle was keyed, leaving a scratch along the passenger side of their vehicle.

SEVERAL CHARGES LAID AFTER ASSAULT INVESTIGATION
(IROQOUIS FALLS, ON) – On January 17, 2017 the Iroquois Falls Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to investigate an assault.
The investigation revealed Jonathan Theriault, 30, of Iroquois Falls threatened bystanders and assaulted another. He is currently charged with:
5 counts Adult Intimidation – persons or general public, contrary to section 423(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
2 counts Fail to Comply with Recognizance, contrary to section 145(3) of the Criminal Code
Assault with a Weapon, contrary to section 267(a) of the Criminal Code
Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
He was held for bail. He is scheduled to appear the Ontario Court of Justice on January 26, 2017.

DRIVER CHARGED FOR TRAVELING 50KM/H OVER THE SPEED LIMIT
(SOUTH PORCUPINE, ON) – On January 18, 2017 at 1:15 p.m., police stopped a motor vehicle traveling at a speed in excess of 50km/h over the posted 80km/h posted speed limit on highway 144 in McKeown Twp.
The driver, Forest Metatawabin, 24, of Porcupine was charged with Stunt – Excessive speed contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. In addition to being served a 7 day driver’s licence suspension, his vehicle was also impounded for the same period. The driver is scheduled to attend court in February to answer to the charge.
The OPP reminds drivers that if you are convicted under the driving stunt legislation, you could face a fine of at least $2000, imprisonment and an additional licence suspension.
