(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On Thursday, December 4, 2014 at approximately 6:20 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a structure fire on Concession 7, Kilsyth, in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.
The owners of the 2 ½ storey farm house called 9-1-1 after they returned home and found the house filled with smoke.
The Inter-Township Fire Department attended and investigation revealed that the rear leg of the woodstove had collapsed causing the woodstove to shift and dislocate the piping to the chimney, causing smoke and ash throughout. There was minimal fire damage. The Chatsworth Fire Department assisted at the scene
The family pet dog had perished inside the residence as a result of the smoke.
