ORILLIA, ON.) – On Wednesday July 29th, 2015 at approximately 8:50 p.m., the Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a skateboarder.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Borland Street East and Matchedash Street North. A skateboarder who was crossing at the intersection was struck by a pickup truck which was headed southbound on Matchedash Street.
The 15 year old male pedestrian from Orillia, was transported to a Toronto area trauma centre with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the motor vehicle, from Orillia, was not injured.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit (TTCI) attended the scene of the collision, and is currently investigating.
The investigation is continuing, and charges are pending
