(LEEDS, ON) – On Wednesday April 1st, 2015, at approximately 11:15pm officers from the Leeds Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attempted to stop a motor vehicle on Lombard Street in Smiths Falls.
The motor vehicle failed to stop for police and was involved in a single motor vehicle collision a short time later at the intersection of Poonamlie Road and Highway 15.
Both occupants of the suspect vehicle were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The province’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) was notified by the OPP and has invoked its mandate. Any further inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at 416-622-2342
