SIU INVOKES MANDATE

(SUDBURY, ON) – On October 18, 2014 at approximately 4:06 am, officers with the Sudbury Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a 911 call at a residence in Secord Township.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers attempted to arrest a male individual. The male individual was injured during the arrest.

The male, 44 years old, of Secord Township was arrested and has been charged for the following offences:

– Assault, as per section 266 of the Criminal Code (CC)

– Assault with the Intent to Resist Arrest, as per section 270(1)(b) of the CC X2

– Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm, as per section 264.1(1)(a) of the CC X3

– Resist Peace Officer, as per section 129(a) of the CC

As a result of this altercation, the male was taken to hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries and was later released.
