Serious Injuries Reported
(Goulais Township, ON) – On Sunday, September 22nd 2013 at approximately 4:15 am Sault Ste. Marie OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision approximately three kilometers north in the 900 block of Havilland Shores Drive.
A black Chevrolet pickup truck travelling west on Havilland Shores Drive lost control and entered the south ditch of the roadway striking a tree.
Two seventeen year old females, one eighteen year old male passenger and the driver were transported to hospital by ambulance.
The two female passengers received serious injuries.
One female passenger remains in serious condition at Sault Area Hospital. All others have been released from hospital.
The vehicle was demolished.
As a result of police investigation, the driver, eighteen year old Jess Daniel Pitt of Mission Road, Goulais Township has been arrested and charged with two counts of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm.
The accused has been released on a Promise to Appear for court on 21 October 2013.
