(BLIND RIVER, ON) – On June 17, 2015 at 10:43 a.m. officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Blind River Detachment received a call to be on the lookout for a pickup truck on Highway 17 in the Township of the Northshore. A motorist called police complaining the westbound vehicle was being driven erratically. Officers located the vehicle in question at 10:53 a.m. and a traffic stop was initiated. As a result of their investigation the driver was arrested for impaired operation. Shannon NIBLOCK, 55 years of age from Elliot Lake has been charged with the following offences:
Operating a motor vehicle while ability is impaired, section 253(1)(a) Criminal Code
Operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 mg of alcohol, section 253(1)(b) Criminal Code
Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open alcohol, section 32(1) Liquor Licence Act
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on August 6, 2015 in answer to these charges.
