(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) -On July 9, 2014 at approximately 7:06 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was patrolling Wellington Road 109 just north of the North Wellington Operations Centre, Town of Minto and observed a male driving a 2012 Acura travelling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was southbound and was locked on radar at 157 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
Shannon HAMMER age 40 of Georgetown is charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Guelph Court on August 20, 2014 to answer to the charge.
