Sewer Grate Tampered With

(CHESLEY, ON) – On May 29th, 2011 at 9:33 am, the South Bruce OPP received a report of an overnight mischief along 4th Avenue S/W in the town of Chesley. Sometime during the evening hours of May 28th or the early morning hours of May 29th, 2011, a sewer grate was moved and dropped into the sewer drain. The open sewer drain represented a safety hazard for cyclists, pedestrians and vehicle drivers. The roads department has returned the grate to its proper position. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the South Bruce OPP or Crime Stoppers.
