SEVERAL UNLOCKED VEHICLES ENTERED

(SAUGEEN FIRST NATION, ON) – On Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at approximately 8:49 a.m., Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a theft from a vehicle report on County Rd. 13, Saugeen First Nation. While investigating the incident, police learned of 4 other vehicles that had been entered in the area overnight. All vehicles were unlocked. Items taken included, cash, cell phones, and wallets containing personal identification, banking and credit cards.

Bruce Peninsula OPP wish to remind residents that these types of thefts are a crime of opportunity. An unlocked vehicle door or an open window is an invitation to thieves. Remember to always roll up the windows, lock the doors, and keep valuables out of plain view to prevent thefts from occurring.
