At 4:10 pm on August 14, 2015, Police responded to a two vehicle collision with serious injuries at Bridgeport Road and Highway 85 on ramps. A 55 year old male from Mississauga was operating a Ford SUV south, coming off highway 85 and approached the stop sign, then failed to yield to an oncoming dump truck on Bridgeport Rd prior to making a left turn. The dump truck, operated by a 32 year old Cambridge man attempted to brake and steer to avoid the collision but was unsuccessful and struck the driver side of the SUV. The Mississauga man was extricated from the vehicle by emergency services and transported to hospital with serious but not believed to be life threatening injuries.
