Serious Collision On Wellington Road 39 – One Airlifted To Hosptial

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On August 19, 2016 at approximately 6:10 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS), the Guelph Fire Department and Wellington County Roads Department attended a single motor vehicle collision on Wellington Road 39 between Wellington Road 30 and Curtis Drive.

A 2005 Nissan was traveling north on Wellington Road 39 when it left the roadway and struck a hydro pole. The driver was 22-year-old Lois OPOKU of Guelph. She sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries and was transported by Orgne Air Ambulance to a Hamilton hospital.

The road is now open and Wellington County OPP continues to investigate the collision.
