Serious Collision In Southgate – One Airlifted To London

(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On April 29, 2016 at approximately 10:44 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), together with the Mount Forest Fire Department and Paramedics from the Cambridge Ambulance Service, responded to a single motor vehicle collision that occurred on Southgate Sideroad 41 near Aunt Mary Crescent in the Township of Southgate.

Investigation revealed that a 2012 Jeep Wrangler was travelling northbound on Southgate Sideroad 41 and then left the roadway. The vehicle travelled through the ditch, rolled and collided into several trees on the east side of the road. The vehicle sustained severe damage.

The lone driver of the vehicle, a 22-year old male from Arthur, Ontario, was transported to a local hospital and was then air-lifted to a London hospital where he is listed to be in fair condition.

The investigation continues.
