SERIOUS COLLISION IN SEVERN TOWNSHIP

(ORILLIA, ON) – The Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a serious motor vehicle collision that occurred in Severn Township.

On September 3, 2014 at approximately 8:05 a.m., the Orillia OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Cambrian Road and Brennan Line in Severn Township. Officers arrived at scene and located two vehicles that had been involved in a collision. A pickup truck had been travelling west bound on Brennan Line and a van had been travelling south bound on Cambrian Road.

The driver of the van, an on-duty OPP officer from Huntsville, was transported to a Toronto area trauma centre with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup truck, from Orillia, was not injured. There were no passengers in the vehicles.

The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit (TTCI) attended the scene of the collision and is currently investigating. The intersection of Cambrian Road and Brennan Line has been re-opened.
