(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) – On August 7, 2016 at approximately 5:00 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Town of Erin Fire and Emergency Services were called to a single motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Side Road 10 and 4th Line, Town of Erin.
A 2006 GMC Van was traveling eastbound on Side Road 10 when it left the roadway and rolled over. The driver was a 22-year-old Garrett HURGETT from the Town of Erin. He sustained life threatening injuries and was subsequently transported by Orgne Air Ambulance to a Hamilton hospital with life threatening injuries. The passenger was 23-year-old Dillon HOWELL of East Garafraxa Township. He was treated and released at the scene with minor injuries.
The intersection remained closed for approximately 6 hours as members of the Wellington County OPP, with the assistance of West Region OPP Technical Collision Investigators investigated the scene.
