(CALEDON, ON) – The Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is pleased to announce that chosen Caledon students will have the opportunity to participate in our second annual, “Shop with a Cop!†event. On Saturday, December 21st, 46 deserving Caledon students will have the opportunity to spend time with a police officer shopping for Christmas gifts for their families. Each student will be provided with a $100.00 gift card graciously donated by local businesses and schools. The students will be transported to Wal-Mart Bolton to make their purchases followed by breakfast and other festivities at Ceasar’s Event Centre in Bolton.
“After our amazing success last year with the inaugural ‘Shop With a Cop!,’ the decision was made to increase the scope of the program for 2014. We created a committee of officers and civilian employees to plan the event and decided that we wanted to allow more children to take part. With a whole year to plan, we have been able to connect with more sponsors and create a fuller day for the shoppers who will be joining us, including Christmas crafts and activities, Christmas music and movies, and a visit from Santa. On Saturday, December 14th at 11 am, Auxiliary members of the Caledon Detachment will be fundraising for this special event at Wal-Mart in Bolton.
