School Bus Hits Hydro Pole – Two Sent To Hospital

(ZORRA TOWNSHIP, ON.) – On Monday June 13, 2016, at approximately 8:39 a.m., Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to the 43rd Line between Perth/Oxford Road and Road 96, where a school bus had left the roadway and struck a hydro pole.

The Elgie Bus Line school bus was driving south bound on the 43rd Line when it left the roadway, entered the ditch, struck a hydro pole and came to a stop off the roadway. The impact resulted in the male driver and one 13-year-old female student, being transported to a local hospital, both with non-life threatening injuries. In total seventeen students were on the bus at the time of the collision. Three other students were treated at the scene and released with minor injuries by Perth County paramedics. The Zorra Township Fire Department (Uniondale) attended to assist at the scene as well.

Police would like to thank the witnesses who stopped and helped out at the scene.

The investigation remains under investigation.
