School Bus Flips On Side In Collision – Numerous Students On Board

(ELIZABETHTOWN, ON) – Officers from Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Leeds County detachment are currently on scene of a two vehicle collision on Dixie Road in Elizabethtown Township.

Investigation is in the early stages, but the collision did involve a school bus and a tractor. As a result of the collision, the school bus subsequently left the roadway and tipped onto its side.

The school bus was occupied by the bus driver and numerous students at the time of the collision. Several students suffered minor injuries, some were treated and released at the scene and others were transported to hospital.

The cause of the collision is in the preliminary stages.

Dixie Road is currently closed to through traffic and detours are in effect.
