SCARLETT – Impaired Driving

(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON) – On April 18, 2016, at approximately 12:25 a.m., the Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an erratic driver travelling eastbound on Highway 401, near Graham Road, in West Elgin, Ontario.

Officers located the motor vehicle, a tan Pontiac van, and conducted a traffic stop on Wellington Road, in the City of London, Ontario.

The male driver was arrested for impaired driving by drug, and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment, where a drug recognition expert (DRE) officer conducted testing.

As a result of the police investigation, 40-year-old Frederick SCARLETT, from Windsor, Ontario, has been charged with driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle (drug), contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear (PTA), and is scheduled to answer the charge in a London court on May 12, 2016.
