At 9:45am, police were called to a motel in Port Elgin to deal with a person who was creating a disturbance. A 45 yr. old male from Toronto was cautioned.
At 10:50am, police received a shoplifting complaint from a Convenience Store in Port Elgin. A male, age 18, from Saugeen Shores was cautioned and prohibited from attending the business.
Police received a complaint about a lost phone. The complainant left his black I-phone 6 in the washrooms at New Fairway Park. When he returned the phone was gone.
Police were able to assist a person in retrieving a cell phone that had been inadvertently left in a taxi.
At 2:00pm, police attended a motor vehicle accident on the Bruce Saugeen Townline. A vehicle struck debris on the road which set off the airbags and caused extensive damage.
At 2:47pm, police received a request from the OPP to look out for a vehicle involved in a traffic complaint. The vehicle was stopped by Saugeen Shores Police and the driver was cautioned.
August 4, 2015
At 3:00pm, police attended a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Bruce Rd 17 and Bruce Rd 3. It resulted in property damage to the vehicles but no injuries. A driver was charged with making an improper turn.
At 5:00pm, police attended a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Grosvenor and Palmerston Streets in Southampton. Paramedics attended but there were no injuries reported. A driver was charged with Fail to Yield.
At 5:19pm, police dealt with three persons who attended the police station after a traffic incident. The involved persons were arguing with each other over a traffic complaint. The argument continued to the front door of the police station. An officer spoke with the group and they were cautioned for their actions.
August 5, 2015
At 1:25am, police received a complaint of a bike stolen from the Port Elgin Tourist Camp. A police officer responding to the call observed some youths in the area. Two young males have been identified as being responsible and are being dealt with outside of the courts through a diversion program. Two bicycles were recovered and returned to the owners.
Police received a complaint of a theft of a scooter. The child’s scooter was stolen from a driveway on Shore Road on August 2nd. It is red and has a polka dot bag on the handle bars.
A resident complained of mischief to his vehicle. The vehicle was parked at the rear of 625 Goderich Street. Overnight someone broke the driver side windshield wiper blade and damaged the wiper arm.
August 6, 2015
At 8:30am, an officer on patrol stopped a vehicle on Goderich Street in Port Elgin. The vehicle had a plate sticker which expired in 2013. The traffic stop resulted in charges of Driving while under suspension, Use unauthorized licence plate and No Insurance.
A bicycle was stolen from a residence on Albert Street North in Southampton. The bike is described as a women’s cruiser style, blue in colour. The make is Cadillac. It has a basket on the front.
At 11:38am, police received a complaint of a fail to remain accident in the Walmart parking lot. The incident is under investigation. Police have a photo and partial plate of the involved vehicle. Damage was minor.
At 2:45pm, police received another complaint of a fail to remain accident. A vehicle backed into another vehicle which was parked on Goderich Street. The incident is under investigation.
August 7, 2015
At 10:00am, police attended at a motor vehicle accident between a car and a bicycle. A motor vehicle travelling north on Goderich Street attempted to make a right turn into a parking lot and struck a bicyclist who was also north bound on Goderich Street. The cyclist was taken to hospital by EMS and later released with minor injuries. The driver of the vehicle was charged with an Unsafe Turn under the Highway Traffic Act.
A barbeque was stolen off a deck on Miramichi Bay Road between July 30 and August 1st. The barbeque is described as a blue Napoleon TravelQ with propane tank.
August 8, 2015
At 1:15am, police attended a disturbance on Harbour Street in Port Elgin. Two teens leaving a party had been involved in a consensual fight. The incident had ended on police arrival. The involved persons were cautioned.
A bicycle was reported stolen from the back yard of a residence on High Street in Southampton. The bike is an old CCM, blue and white in colour.
At 2:30pm, police responded to a serious injury accident on Bruce Road 3 at Bartley Sideroad. A group of motorcycles were northbound on Bruce Road 3. The last motorcycle in the group failed to negotiate the curve in the road at the Saugeen River. The motorcycle left the road and struck several small trees which resulted in the driver and passenger being ejected from the motorcycle. Both received serious injuries. They were taken to hospital in Southampton by ambulance and then subsequently airlifted by ORNGE to hospitals in London and Toronto. The injuries were considered serious but not life threatening. The driver was a male, age 59 from Burford, ON and the passenger was a female, age 55 yrs, also from Burford.

At 2:30am, police on patrol came across a disturbance at Goderich and Market Streets. Two males were involved in a physical altercation. The consensual fight was broken up by police and both males were cautioned for Causing a Disturbance.
At 2:30pm, police attended at a two vehicle accident at Bruce Road 3 and Carlisle Street. There were no injuries. A driver was charged with Fail to yield.
