Saugeen Shores Police Press Release 30Nov – 06Dec2015

30 Nov 2015,

1:28 am police conducted a traffic stop and observed an odour of marihuana in the vehicle. The driver surrendered a zip lock baggie with about one gram of marihuana to police. The driver was warned and the drugs were destroyed.

1 Dec 2015,

2:43 am police responded to a Saugeen Shores residence where an occupant was breaking items. The 27 year old male was arrested for Mischief and spent the rest of the evening in jail.

8:39 pm police responded to a dispute at a residence in Saugeen Shores. After investigation a 61 year old male was arrested for assault and a 21 year old male was arrested for Mischief for slashing a vehicle tire.

3 Dec 2015,

2:34 pm police conducted RIDE in various locations with officers from the OPP, West Grey Police, Hanover Police and Owen Sound Police.

5 Dec 2015,

3:07 pm police conducted RIDE in Southampton, no infractions.

3:08 pm police responded to a motor vehicle collision at Gustavus and Bricker. A vehicle was east on Gustavus, another vehicle was north on Bricker St stopped at the stop sign and proceeded before the way was clear striking the east bound vehicle. The offending driver was charged with Failing to Yield.

7:18 pm police conducted RIDE in Southampton and Saugeen Township. Approximately 80 vehicles were checked with two Highway Traffic Act warnings and one Controlled Drug and Substances Act charge laid.

10:32 pm police stopped a vehicle in a RIDE check in Saugeen Township and observed an odour of marihuana in the vehicle. Investigation revealed 4.8 grams of marihuana and two bags of an unknown white substance that is being sent away to determine if it is cocaine. The 26 year old Tara male was released on charges of possession of marihuana.

6 Dec 2015,

10:00 am police responded to a report of two mail boxes being spray painted. This mischief occurred on 13/14 Side Road in Saugeen Township. No suspects, police are investigating.
