(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – On Monday August 25, 2014 at approximately 7:30 PM an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol southbound on Highway 35 south of the village of Norland.
The officer began following a vehicle that was travelling several kilometers below the posted speed limit and swerving back and forth hitting the shoulder. The officer initiated a traffic stop and after further investigation the driver was arrested.
As a result of the investigation Roumen MARINOV, 48 years of age, of Toronto is charged with Driving While Ability Impaired and Driving with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood contrary to the Criminal Code. His driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on September 25, 2014.
