Ross Pickard – Distracted And Drunk Driving, 125 in a 90

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial (OPP) stopped and charged a driver last night that was placing all users of the roadway at significant risk. At approximately 7:45 p.m. a Huron County OPP officer spotted a black Ford F-150 speeding along Brussels Line near Moncrieff Road. The vehicle was travelling at 125 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone. The driver was also observed texting on his cell phone. Upon stopping the vehicle officers determined the driver had been drinking alcohol and was displaying several signs of impairment. He was arrested for impaired driving and was transported to detachment for breath tests. He provided two samples of his breath to a qualified intoxilizer technician; both tests were above the legal limit.

Ross PICKARD, 46, from Lucknow has been charged with Impaired Driving, Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol, Drive Motor Vehicle While Using a Hand-Held Wireless Communication Device and Speeding. He has a court date scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on August 19, 2013. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and the motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
