(HALIBURTON, ON) -On Saturday January 11, 2013 at approximately 2:45 pm, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Officers from the Haliburton Highlands Detachment responded to roof collapse fatality on Contau Lake road in Gooderham, Municipality of Highlands East, Ontario. A 64 year old female was cleaning the snow off the deck at her mothers residence when the roof above her collapsed. Efforts by Haliburton EMS and Highlands East Fire Department to revive the female were unsuccessful and she died as a result of her injuries. The female has been identified as Bonnie DEWEY of Gooderham Ontario. At this time it appears the cause of the incident appears to be the weight of the heavy snow and recent precipitation which caused the structure failure.
