(LAMBTON SHORES- ARKONA ON) – On December 6, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. a member of the Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the driver of a 2003 Chrysler Sebring within the 7000 Block of Arkona Road, Arkona, Lambton Shores Ontario.
As a result of this investigation, and in an attempt to arrest the driver for impaired operation of a motor vehicle, the driver assaulted the OPP Officer. After a brief physical confrontation, the driver was successfully arrested. Additional investigation, resulted in the driver, Robert PAYNE, 64 years- of-age, of Lambton Shores, Ontario being charged with allegedly commit the offences of Impaired Driving, Drive with Over 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood, Resist Arrest and Assault Police, Expired- Vehicle Permit, Licence Plates and Insurance Card and finally, Have Open Liquor in Motor Vehicle. Neither the Officer nor the suspect has any reported injuries.
The driver is to appear in Sarnia Court on January 9, 2017 to answer to the allegations.
