(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – On May 8, 2015 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint indicating that the driver of a vehicle travelling eastbound on Highway 7 near Tracey’s Hill Road was possibly impaired.
Officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP were able to locate the vehicle, which was being operated in an erratic manner, and subsequently stopped it.
As a result of the investigation, the vehicle driver, Robert FLORENT, 43 years of age, of Peterborough, was arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. More than 130 grams of marihuana was seized by the officer.
The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on June 18, 2015.
