Robbery In St. Marys – Suspect Description Released

(ST. MARYS, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are currently investigating a robbery that took place on October 26, 2016 in the Town of St. Marys.

Shortly before 9:42 p.m. a male suspect entered into the M & M Variety Store located on Water Street South in St. Marys. Once inside the store the male suspect threatened the clerk and then he proceeded to make attempts to access the cash register.

At this point in the investigation it is not clear how much cash, if any, was taken from the register.

The suspect fled the variety store in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as being a Caucasian male, between 20 to 40 years of age, around 5’8” in height, with a slim to medium build and he is said to have a “scruffy appearance”. He was wearing dark coloured clothing.

Members from the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and an OPP Canine Unit attended the scene to assist with the investigation.

This investigation is ongoing, should further information become available it will be released at that time.
