Road Rager Beats Driver With Baseball Bat For Passing

(COUNTY OF BRANT, ON) –Members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to report of a road rage incident on Victor Blvd in St George in the County of Brant at approximately 2:00 p.m. on 9 October 2015.

OPP investigators attended and found that a GMC Sierra pick-up truck was travelling on St George Road when it was passed by a Ford Focus. Both vehicles then turned onto Victor Blvd where the pick-up truck forced the Ford focus off the road. Once the vehicles stopped an altercation ensued and the driver of the ford focus was struck with a baseball bat.

The Ford Focus was being operated by a County of Brant man who received minor injuries.

The Chevrolet Sierra operator 25-year-old Kyle LAMERONT of the County of Brant was arrested and charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada:

Dangerous Driving

Assault

Assault with a weapon

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford at a later date to answer to his charges. If convicted, the offender will be subject to the Criminal Code penalties, including a fine or jail time and a driving prohibition.
